Christina Peterson is a nonprofit professional and community leader with a passion for advocacy, outreach, and building meaningful community connections throughout Central Florida. Born in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. and raised in Colorado Springs, Christina returned to Florida 17 years ago, where she quickly fell in love with Lakeland and proudly decided to call it home. Her background includes nonprofit leadership, fundraising, event management, and strategic partnerships focused on supporting individuals and families in need.
Before joining Camaraderie Foundation, Christina worked with the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce and later served in leadership roles with ROAR FLORIDA and Talbot House Ministries in the Development Department. She also served on the Board of Directors for Talbot House Ministries, further reflecting her dedication to supporting individuals and families in need throughout the community. Throughout her career, she has focused on strengthening community partnerships, outreach initiatives, fundraising efforts, and inclusive programming that positively impacts the community.
Christina remains actively involved in several community and civic initiatives. She is a member, amd Board member of Rotary Club of Lakeland South and serves on the DEI Committee for the Florida Children’s Museum. She is also involved with the Longest Table Committee and the America 250 Committee, reflecting her commitment to inclusion, collaboration, and community connection.
Coming from a family with deep military roots across multiple branches, Christina has a strong appreciation for service and community. Her son and daughter-in-law proudly serve in the United States Navy, further strengthening her connection to military families and veterans. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, their pups Piper and Duke, attending concerts, exploring downtown Lakeland, visiting local farmers markets, cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and supporting the Detroit Tigers.
